my grey tooth is hurting

Q. My tooth went grey a year ago and recently my gum stared hurting above my grey tooth. how much would it be to fix it

A. You would need a check up to find out why it has gone grey, then decide which treatment option. If you see an NHS dentist and pay charges it is likely to be a band3 treatment which costs £198. Private options are too variable to quote.

Okay so first of all I had a filling replaced on my front tooth, then I noticed it was really hard to floss because the filling was bulkier than before and I felt constant pressure. So I returned to the dentist and he said I needed a root canal, and we did a root canal. during this whole process my tooth has moved back slightly, which he was not too concerned with, but today :'( I just noticed it’s slightly grey. I am in my early thirties and getting married in June, I cannot have a grey tooth!!!!!!
Is it possible the dentist is at fault….it was only after he worked on it that it shifted and is now turning grey. What are my options for fixing?

Hi there. I am considering having my teeth whitened, however I have a chip in my front teeth that has previously been filled in but is now discoloured (a grey colour) Would this also whiten with the process or would I need to have cosmetic dentistry to fix it? If I was to have it fixed I would also like my front teeth shaped. Which process would need to be done first? Many thanks for tour time.

Hi It is highly unlikely the previous treatment will lighten but it may to a degree. If you get a great result with the whitening it might be best to replace this old repair and make them match. Best to have it assessed fully first.
