My daughter seems to be ‘popping’ her jaw muscles, can this be cured?

Q. My daughter is 14 years old and has an over bite, crooked teeth, and is always popping her jaw muscles. i have no idea what that loud cracking noise does, is it currable? what is it?,
A. It sounds as though she may have TMJ problems. This is associated with the jaw joints. She needs to see a dentist to assess the situation. Many of the population have hjaw problems. Usually, if it doesn’t cause any pain, people tend to just leave it well alone. That doesn’t mean however, that she wont get problems later on in life. I would recommend that she tries to wear a stabilisation splint at night to keep her jaw in the correct position so that she can’t grind in her sleep. This also prevents any damage to the jaw joints. Hope this has helped.

Braces might be an option for you. I would advise you to make an appointment with a Cosmetic Invisalign Dentist or Orthodontist for a consultation.

Hi I have an open bite and crooked teeth which are worsening as my wisdom teeth grow. I’d like to understand what you might be able to do for me and what the investment of time and money is likely to be. Do you offer normal dentistry as well as cosmetic or would i need to continue to have treatment from my registered dentist along side your treatment? Thanks
