My daughter’s baby tooth is black after she had an accident. What can be done for the damaged tooth?

Q. Hello, my 19 month old little girl recently fell and bumped her front teeth. Since then the one front tooth has turned quite black so i presume that it has died. I understand that this is only her first tooth but as her second set of teeth are not due for some years i really do not want all of her photos as a baby / toddler showing her black tooth. What can we do to the damaged tooth? Also will her second tooth grow through o.k.? Many thanks ,
A. Dear Martyn, Hello and thank you for the question. It is quite traumatic for parents when they see their little ones with an unattractive dark baby tooth. It is a common problem as children are prone to this type of injury to their front teeth. Unfortunately, there is no cosmetic treatment for this tooth…if you do not like the dark colour you can have it extracted as an extreme measure. The good news is that the second tooth should come through fine. Regards, Sunita
