My daughter knocked her tooth out, is there anything we can do?

Q.
I have atwo year old daughter who has just knocked out one of her upper front teeth. we have seen our dentidst who has said that there is nothing that can be done and asdditionally he feels that the adults toothe may not form properly or at all. I therefore have two questions:

1. Is there anything cosmetic we can do until my daughter’s adult teeth form?
2. If her adult teeth do not form then what cosmetic treatments would be available as she grows up ie. would we have to wait until she was a teenager or can we do things every couple of years from 6-12?

A.
That must have been some fall for your daughter, I hope she is ok.

To answer your questions:

1. You do really need to wait until her baby teeth have fallen out to see if her adult teeth have formed and if they have formed correctly. If they have formed then that is great.

2. If they haven’t formed correctly there isn’t too much we can do until she becomes a teenager, but there are some options, so if you find they haven’t formed book her in for a consultation with a dentist and they can give you your full options.
