My crown has come off my back tooth

Q. My crown has fallen off my back molar. Can I eat? I can’t sleep because I’m worried. What is the worst case senario?

A. The best thing you can do is see your dentist ASAP. The longer the crown is off the more likely the teeth above and either side will move into the space left , which will make refitting it far more difficult. If you are not suffering any pain the tooth may have already had the nerve removed. The reason for the crown coming off may be due to decay – this may mean a new crown is required. Having said all of this please don’t loose sleep over this. See your dentist and all will be well.
