My 12 year old son’s xray reveals no second teeth to come through can u advice?

Q. My 12 year old son has just visited dentist his xray reveals no second teeth to come through other than the ones he has they said it was genetic does it have a name and what cause of action should i take as aconcerned parent

A. Partial Anadontia is where some of the teeth don’t form. The treatment of it all depends on how many teeth are missing, if it is just a 3-4 then it won’t make a difference. If front teeth are missing or a lot of back teeth then you may needto consider placing teeth in the spaces when he is 18-19 years old.

I’m super concerned. My 8 yr old daughter has lost her top left front tooth. Ther permanent tooth emerged and is half way through. The right top front tooth is still a baby tooth! Should the baby tooth be removed?

I am a 69 year old female who never received and second teeth. Yes it is hereditary. The last tooth I received was my 2 year molars. Unfortunitly my four front upper teeth became abscessed and had to be pulled. At the age of 8 years old I had my first set of Dentures. At age 7 my left eye tooth fell out and what came in was a “peg” tooth. This is when I started to go the the IU Dental clinic Indianapolis, IN, because no one else knew what to do with me. Unfortunitly my Son and Grandson have some of their second teeth missing. They put braces on my Grandsons teeth when he was 14. He lost two teeth because of these braces. Now his Mother wants to put implants in where these teeth fell out. I am very concerned because his mouth is not done growing yet. Is it good for him to get implants at this time or would it be better for him to wait until he is older?
