Is what my dentist said correct regarding my gums?

Q. Hello! I currently have a temporary crown in place while waiting for my permanent. When the old crown was removed, the dentist cut the gum with an electric dental instrument because it sat very low. It appears to me that she cut it too high. When I asked her about it, she said she always cust the gum slightly high because, in her experience, the gum comes down slightly before the permanent crown gets placed. This doesn’t sound likely to me. Is it correct? Or did she just mess up?,
A. Its too early to tell but normally the gum will drop down so I would wait until after the final crown is fitted before deciding
