Is there anything my dentist can do to shorten my front teeth
Q. I feel my front 2 teeth are too long and i would like them shorter, but 1 of my front 2 teeth has been chipped and fixed and my dentist said she cant shorten the teeth because of the nerves and sensitivity! Is there anything my dentist can do to shorten them?
A. Without seeing your teeth it is quite difficult for me to advise whether it would be possible or not to shorten your teeth.
If the teeth have already been significantly shortened by chipping, or having been previously adjusted then to adjust more may cause sensitivity and increase chances of decay.
The options open to you are to have a little recontouring leave it for a couple of months, then recontour again or to have veneers placed to seal the shortened teeth.
