Q. Can you tell me if teeth need to be filed down at the sides to enable the Inman Aligner to straighten the teeth.

A. Very often yes – the Inman is a great appliance for crowding of less than 3mm.  Usually no more than a maximum of .25mm of enamel is gently removed from the side of each tooth. There has been no reported teeth dying or their roots shortening ( a possible problem with some  other types of orthodontics) using the Inman aligner
