Is teeth extraction and braces only way to improve smile?

Q. Hi Doc, I’m vatsa from india and i m 25 years old. My upper teeth is bit protruded and i have already been to an orthodontist .He adviced me to put braces but in order to do that he need to extract 3 teeth i.e upper left and right cuspid and lower central, but i m afraid of extraction of healthy teeth, can anything be done without extractions of single teeth? is extraction is the only way to push the teeth backwards?..as i told you my teeth is not so much protruded also!!!!please advice…,
A. I can’t tell you what is the best Treatment for you without seeing you, however it is sometimes possible to widen the arch with a brace to create space or strip enamel from the teeth to create room for the other teeth Perhaps you should seek advice from another orthodontist to see if they can do anything different

Thanks for the advice doc……….i forgot to mention the important -The orthodontist said after examining the X-ray..the uper jaw/teeth is over-crowded .So the only way is extraction .

i would be really happy if what u replied works -“widen the arch with a brace to create space or strip enamel from the teeth to create room for the other teeth”

Thanks
Vats

Only if the crowding is bad enough, you may be able to have them corrected without having teeth removed.
