Is my medication causing the gaps in my teeth to widen?

Q. I have started taking a blood pressure medicine (Amlodipine) in the last 3 months and have noticed a widening of the gaps in my teeth that is really bothersome. I was taking Diovan before and had no trouble with my teeth, however, I had other adverse reactions and had to stop taking it. Is it possible that the Amlodipine is causing this.,
A. It could be a side effect so its worth pointing out to your GP in case they have seen it before.
