is it normal for braces to make my mouth tingle and hurt?

Q.
I just got braces today and after a few hours there was a mild tingling sensation in my teeth. It went away after a few minutes but now it is back and as I type this it is starting to hurt. Is that normal?

Yes it always hurts a bit when the braces go on and every time to wires are changed or the brace is tightened
