Is it normal for a dental crown to be produced elsewhere from my dental clinic?
Q.
I am to have a new dental crown and my own dentist is advising that I attend someone who specialises in cosmetic dentistry. They have said they no longer take impressions to make the crown and I have 2 appts in 2 days. Is this the norm these days? The crown I have is 10 years old and looking a bit dark at the margin. Also having teeth whitened prior to this.

Dear Enquirer,
You are probably having a CEREC crown which is an advanced computer aided design/manufacture process. Just confirm that this is the process by which your crown is being made.
