Is filing teeth safe?

Q. hi, im 22 and after having my fixed brace taken off 6 years ago, i am yet again unhappy with my teeth, mainly my front 2 teeth that are considerably longer than the others, ive heard that filing is an option. how risky is this? and cost. thanx,
A. You can have your teeth trimmed provided there is enough enamel left to cover over the sensitive underlying dentine
