Q. Hello! I have an underdeveloped lower jaw, which results as a level 3 overbite. (As I’m told by the orthodontist.) She recommended braces for me, to prepare for jaw surgery. I am hesitant at the mention of jaw surgery, and was wondering if my overbite could be fixed with just braces? As a contrast, my regular dentist if very much opposed to me having the jaw surgery, so I am faced with two very different opinions. I am a 16 year old female. Thank you!
