Is a career dentistry right for me? Do you have any advice?

Q. hi, i am considering a career in dentistry but have a few reservations about sticking my hands in people’s mouth. did you ever feel the same way or did you know anyone who has felt similarly. if so, how was this overcome? i think i do want to be a dentist, i would be helping others and i think i would enjoy the job abd lifestyle. is ‘going in people’s mouths’ something you just get used to, or is it just irrelevant because you mostly just use the dental tools rather than go in the mouth. also, does the job ever get boring? i realise there are a variety of treatments but over time, do these become repetitive and boring. what is the most common treatment, standard check-ups, fillings etc.?? and which age group makes up the bulk of your patients. is it mostly the elderly, kids or young/old adults. please help, thanks. salam,
A. asa i would advise you do some work experience before committing as you cant get around the fact you will have to work in some pretty unpleasant mouthes. as to what the job involves depends on what you have studied postgraduate wise and what you enjoy doing within the field as inevitably you will educate your patients accordingly and they will choose treatments in accordance
