Q.
I’m over 40 with an anterior open bite
How long do I need 2 wear braces for?
A.
Dear Enquirer,
It depends on the severity of your situation. Anterior open bites are very difficult to close but I would need to have a look at you to assess the best way forward.

Do braces really correct a bad bite? Thanks

Jensen Says :

They can do but you often need your teeth equilibrated to fine tune your bite at the end of treatment

I am unhappy with the aspect of my teeth and have always fealt quite depressed about it, especially since I am only 26. Ihave developed my problems during childhood due to lack of interest from myparents and dental professionals(I didn’t grew up in the UK)and all of mycurrent fillings were caused during that period. Now I try to take care ofmy dental health as much as I can. My biggest problems are of orthodonticnature, I had a treatment done in my country as a teenager by someone who wasn’t properly qualified and corrected a lack of space on my upper jaw byexpanding it and bringing it over the lower jaw, so I ended up with a biteproblem. I was told this could only be fixed by surgery. I always wanted todo something about my teeth (dental and orthodontical) but have been put off by the financial aspects. I am quite self conscious.

hi am interested in getting braces to close some gaps in my teeth althoughthey are pretty straight. I also have a minor bite issue but nothing particularly problematic. Ideally I would like to have both arches of braces to fix all problems but I am going to university soon and would only be able toafford to have the single upper arch. Would it be possible to have a single arch to close my top teeth and then in a few years and have just a lowerarch to resolve the bite issue and close the bottom teeth gaps. Also how much would i expect to pay for the single arch the biggest gap is my top 2 teeth and is no more than 3mm. the method I would like would be either the damon or 6 month smiles. do both types of braces cover all of the top teeth including my wisdom teeth as i heard 6 month smiles dont. if you could comeback with an estimated price for the 1 arch that would be great.

I am considering teeth straightening at 26 as they really bother me, especially my front two. I am so, so nervous of dentists and things being done tomy teeth though and would need someone patient and understanding. I like the look of 6 month smiles, what would the cost be? What does the whole process involve?

atment elsewhere, but am unhappy with how my treatment is going. I am 33 and have had my braces since March 2006 (5 years) and thus would like to get a second opinion as this is an awfully long time to undergo treatment. The problem is that myteeth have aligned unsymmetrically and I am not happy about this. Anyway may I ask how much you would charge for a second opinion consultation? Alsohow much time will be given for this consultation. If I were to come to youfor a second opinion would the consultant write a letter for me to give tomy orthodontist (outlining his diagnosis/treatment plan), and would therebe an additional charge for this? Thank you I look forward to hearing backfrom you

I hate my teeth so much and really want to do something about it. I was tohave braces under the medical card scheme when I was 16 but they frightenedthe life out of me saying they would have to break my jaw to re-align my teeth. I have a fear of the dentist but have zero confidence and I always hate saying my teeth in photos. I am just wondering how payment works. Is itall up front? and what is the maximum amount of time one may have to wear braces?

Im 23 and have had braces for 13 months, my oryhodontist is thinking 18 months will be enough to fix my anterior open bite.. even though your older it should’nt be any longer.. but it does depend on the severity of the issue, you should go to a dentistry clinic and get a quote before making any big decision… remember BRACES cost alot of money. Hope this helped. good luck

I am 52 with sound but crooked/crowded front teeth. Am I too old to have a brace to straighten them? They are difficult to keep clean and if they were more regularly arranged, my mouth hygeine would be easier.

No its still possible we do quite a lot of these cases with Invisalign as they are much easier to wear than regular braces. Ive just finished a course of treatment too and i’m pretty old!! http://www.advancedentalclinic.com/invisalign.php
