If iIhad my wisdom tooth extracted and had braces would this help to re-position the teeth back into the gum line?

Q. Hi Dr Kailesh My wisdom tooth is pushing on my other teeth.Too of my back teeth have now shifted and roots slightly exposed. If i had my wisdom tooth extracted and had braces would this help to re-posistion the teeth back into the gum line? Many Thanks

A. Hi wisom teeth do not move other teeth they do not have enough strength or force for them to move your other teeth. Your teeth are always moving no matter what age you are. Braces would move your teeth into a straight positon but then a retainer must be worn all the time to stop your teeth from moving back.
