Iam 29yrs old reside in India what would be the best option to replace my missing tooth

Q. Hi, Iam 29yrs old. I reside in India. I had an accident 1 month ago. I lost 1 tooth on the top center and 2 centers on the lower line. It also stuck the other center tooth on the top and one more beside it as well as one on the lower line next to the canine. These are still strong but got a root canal done as recommended by my dentist. To replace the missing tooth what could be the best option. What would be more advisable to do? A bridge or removable dentures? Iam also worried about loosing the bone structure at the spaces of the missing teeth. Will this bone loose lead to the neighbouring teeth getting loose over a period of time? If so how long will that be? Thankyou…

A. Ideally, you need to have a CT scan to confirm the bone levels in your jaw. This is the only way to determine how much bone you have and if it is possiblt to have an implant in the gap. This is by far your  best option. You are right in saying that you are worried about losing bone in the area. When a gap is present, the gum and bone shrinks back. The less bone, the less likely it is to have an implant placed. You may also find that the teethon either side may drift into the gap- often tilted at an angle. So, the quicker it is planned, the better. A removeable denture will probably be needed anyway if an implant is placed for approx 12 weeks afterwards. This will make sure that everything has healed before a crown is placed. I hope all of this information has helped in your decision.
