I would like to have a white filling on my composite tooth
Q. Hi, i had composite bonding done on my front teeth in the US about 10 years ago. I was biting my nails when part of the bottom of my front tooth came away. My NHS dentist applied a small white filling to the bottom of the tooth but it doesn’t feel right at all. I haven’t eaten anything on the front tooth for 2 weeks now, i’m so worried the filling will break off. Is it safe to add a white filling to a composite bonded tooth. I would like to go to a private dentist to have it fixed properly. Is this allowed, and can I still keep my nhs dentist for general dentistry. Thankyou
A. A white filling is a composite, therefore a white filling can be added to a composite and the bond should be strong enough if the correct principles are applied
Yes, you can see a private dentist for whatever treatment you wish and if you wish to go back to you NHS dentist this is possible as well.
