I wore my retainer for the recommended time, but my teeth moved, can I have braces again?

Q.
Hi there,
When I was a teenager I had braces and my teeth were resonably straight after treatment, and I wore my retainer for the recommended time. However, over the years my teeth have pretty much went back to the way they were before, especially the bottom teeth which are perticularly crooked.
I was wondering what options are available to me to straighten my smile as it is really affecting my confidence, I have lost my bite and find my overal oral health is being affected?
Another issue I have always had is that I have a very gummy smile which has always caused me confidence issues but I never thought I could do anything about it. I am just looking for some general advice on what options I have and how much this type of treatment would cost? I am 22 years old.
Many thanks,
A.
Dear Enquirer,
Reatiners are a lifelong commitment after you have finished with active brace treatment, even though you do not have to wear your retainer every night.
The best and most non-invasive way to straightn your teeth is having a course of braces again. I would need to assess you in person to comment about the gummy smile. If you are in the London area, I would be happy to have a look. My number is 0208 567 4344
