i want dentures that look like my own teeth

Q. I have a complete set of dentures, which are 9 years old that move about in my mouth and people can tell straight away that i am wearing them as the gum part can be seen when i smile which i am finding embarracing. i am 51 years old and would like to be able to smile as if the teeth i was wearing were my own. please can you help me . how long does it take from start to the completion of the dentures awaiting your reply thanks L

A. There are several ways to manage this problem. Obviously new teeth that are secure is a priority. You might consider dental implants to help anchor a denture www.adi.org.uk has some more details. The costs are around £6-10,000 it depends on how many implants and the type of dentures. Top end dentures have shaped and multi tinted gum work, they really can fool people that they are real teeth &gums.
A botox approach to relax the top lip and reduce retraction on smiling needs careful consideration but can work in some cases.
Replacement dentures without implants but with the tinted gum work £1200 for both upper & lower
Replacement dentures improved fit, shaped gum work, good quality materials / specs £750 upper & lower

As you can see there is quite a variation in cost depending on the route taken. If you would like a free assessment in Birmingham call 0121 643 0610 but please mention I have agreed this via the website.

I hope this helps,

Hi Drs.
I have been thinking about getting my teeth whitened, and have been reading various articles on the interent, is it true that the bleaches used by dentists is actually illegal and that they are breaking the law of they sell me it ?

Last september i had seven of my front lower teeth pulled. The dentist had me return in six months after my gums healed. It is now may 22, and he still haven’t completed my full set of dentures.. I cannot understand why it’s being delayed. I’ve had a full set of upper dentures and
they fit perfectly so he shouldn’t have had a problem with making them.

I need to know about the teeth on dentures? I need a full upper denture. I have (bar from a single implant/crown) all my lower teeth. on the other hand I only have a few of my upper teeth for varying reasons. the dentist has told me that he will remove all the remaining few as they are ruined. I want to know though about the tooth part of these. will they feel like proper teeth and work like them against my lower, real teeth? im worried itll feel like I’m pressing food against plastic with my bottom jaw!

You may be still suitable for the use of dental implants to hold your lower denture in place. See the specialist, hopefully they can offer you an implant retained solution.

Hi Jamie, I recently had one of the front teeth taken out and it seems to affect my speech / voice. It is the one in very front lower jaw. Wonder if it is possible to use a partial denture to replace it. If it is what is the process; also would like to know how much it would cost me to do it. Many thanks

Hello , Yes, your speach will be affected by your missing tooth , as for cost it depends on the type of denture you require as a very rough estimate i would say £300 to £400 , however, You will need to see a dentist first to check the state of your remaining teeth

hi, i’m 23 do you think implants to replace 2 missing molars is an extreme option? I don’t fancy a partial denture because of the way they’re fixed, the thought of the clasps breaking and me choking on them scares the life out of me. What do you think? do you treat young patients like me? or are implants only really suitable for those who are older?
