I recently did a root canal the tip of the K-File used to remove the nerve during the procedure broke in my mouth

Q. I recently did a root canal. After the procedure the Dentist informed me that the tip of the K-File used to remove the nerve during the procedure broke in my mouth. He noted that this is normal. This happens frequently to dentist. He noted that it will just become part of the filling and should not create any problem later. Is this correct? Pls. advise. Thank you

A. This is a common complication of root canal treatment, however if a problem occurs with the root treatment at a later date, the file may need removing.
