I need deep scaling treatment but can’t stand the machine my hygienist uses, any advice?

Q. I have very sensitive teeth that require deep scaling treatment.I just can’t tolerate the machine that the hygienist uses and consequently haven’t gone t dentist in two years .Any suggestions?,
A. Have a local anaesthetic for the scaling, and do the scaling in sections.
