I need a tooth removing – will sedation help as I have TMJ?

Q. hi, i hope you can give me some advice as i dont seem to be getting anywhere with my dentist. i had an abcess in my top right molar ( the first big one) the dentist drained it and put antibiotics in it, and temp filling til i can get the tooth taken out. i was still getting pain in the cheek area but i also have TMJ, which is why i can not have root canal as its hard for me to keep my mouth open for long periods of time. i have been referd for IV sedation as i am a nervous patient and im a little worried on how this will be, but also my wisdom tooth on that side is grinding on my bottom molar, and causeing a dull ache, my dentist said its a dead tooth and i have a cross bite, what does this mean? im 34 and never had a problem with my teeth til 3 months ago.,
A. Had you recently had a filling placed on any of your back teeth? Problem is it may not have been polished well enough to suit your natural bite. Also, if you do have a problem keeping your mouth open for long periods of time then IV sedation is probably very suitable as your muscles will be totally relaxed.I am more than happy to see you for a consultation regarding your matterJustin Glaister
