I have to have more periodontal work done on my jaw, is it going to be the same as the surgery I received before?

Q. I have severe bone loss and my periodontist wants to do osseous surgery on my upper and lower right jaw,(4 or more teeth upper and lower. I have already had the periodontal work done on the other side of my jaw, and I’m wondering is this is the same as lifting the flap of gum and cleaning the teeth, bone or whatever, which is what he did before? Can you explain to me if this is different, or what? Thank you.,
A. I am not sure what treatment is being recommended as there are so many types, before doing this sit down with your dentist and ask them to explain the procedures, benefits and consequences.
