i have recently had periodontal surgery

Q. I have recently had periodontal surgery. I have been left with a large amount of gum loss about 2-3mm on my ul1 and ur1. i have a ‘big smile’ and am very conscious of it. I am 53 years old and in 2005 embarked on orthodontics and whitening, so you can imagine how disappointed I am to have to go back to hiding my mouth again. is there anything that can be done

A. Horizontal bone loss is usually not possible to regrow in a vertical direction.  In these instances veneers/crowns can often be used to mask the root surface and reduce the ” black triangles” between the teeth
