I have periodontal disease at 27. Is there anything that can be done?

Q.
Hi Dr Moore,

I am REALLY desperate. I have been told I have periodontal disease at the age of 27. I already have an extreme occlusion and my teeth are already moving and loose. I need some reassurance really….I just want these things out of my head! I hate them but I don’t know what I would do if they fell out either. Mainly I really need some advice as I would love a full reconstruction but don’t think I could ever afford it 🙁 Please help!!!

You probably have a choice of periodontal treatment and a bite raising appliance or to consider removal of the worst affected teeth before the bone is lost. Once the bone has gone the placement of dental implants might not be possible. If you’d like me to take a look please feel free to contact my clinic for a consultation
