I have lost my retainers and am stressing out. Will moulds be taken for new ones?

Q.
Basically Im 16 now, i had braces 2/3years back and my teeth were straight so i got given Retainers after the treatment, unfourtunley i have lost them few months back, but just now i have noticed my bottom teeth seem abit crooked. i went to the dentist and he sed i should go to My orthodontic dentist, he should be able to give me Retainers, im guessin they going to make a new Mold for my teeth? i regret being so careless but i cant change that Now. Im not even Confident nomore, i find it hard to smile its effecting me alot. will everything be Ok? or am i just over reacting?

Hi
You are not overreacting as your teeth will possibly continue to move without some sort of retention.

With the cements you use in bonding wire retainers, have you ever seen a reaction to Tetric Flow composite at all or any other flowable composites? My orthodontist has used tetric flow composite to top up my upper bonded retainer after it had worn but it has left such a strong bitter taste and smell in my mouth that it is giving me dizziness, headaches and chronic vomiting. What alternative flowable composites do you recommend for bonded retainers? Thanks.

Hi, basically I use my retainers once every so often. and have recently noticed they have gone missing, I’m scared they are completely lost. Is there a possibility my orthondontist is able to make me a new retainer with the moulds they took when I had my braces removed? or would they take a mould from my current teeth, baring in mind my teeth have moved a fair amount

I had orthodontic treatment 20years ago to align my teeth and had been wearing a night retainer. 3 months ago ilost my retainer and my teeth have moved a little bit and I have noticed small gaps in the front upper teeth Can I use a hawley retainer to close the gaps and push the teeth back a bit (both upper and lower) ? If not what are the other treatment options.

That’s the best thing to try. Once the teeth have moved start wearing a retainer again
