I have had temporary crowns fitted to my two front teeth, is it normal that they are stuck together?

Today I had temporary crowns over my two front teeth. Is it customary to had these temp crowns joined together? It feels like I have something stuck between my teeth.
A.
Yes it makes them stronger and will stop them falling off
