Q. Dr Caplan I have chipped both my front teeth as a child and have been offered by my dentist when i was pregnant to have them both crowned although i was quite happy with the way my teeth looked with what i think were bridges i agreed to it because he had said that these crowns would last a life time. I have been unhappy with my teeth since they are to large compared with my other teeth and have a different colouring which is very noticable when i smile. i now am always contious of this when i smile. i have asked my dentist if i could have them replaced but he advises that it isnt a good idea because the part of my teeth thats my own will have to be shaped again i will end up with even less of my own teeth.My question is if this is the case and what consequences could i face if i still want to go ahead and have them changed. the other question i have is how do i find out which dentistry is a dentistry with a good reputation?
