I have bleeding gums on my bottom teeth

Q. I have bleeding gums on my bottom teeth and have noticed that in between two teeth my gum feels soft and is not firmly attached to my two teeth. The gum is covering the two teeth slightly more than before. I have also noticed a build up of plaque on these two teeth, behind at the back. I have made an appointment but am worried I don’t know what to expect? Can you help ?

A. Hi many thanks the best thing you have done is to book an appointment with your dentist. it sounds to me you are suffering from gingivitis in that area, which is inflammation of the gums, if left untreated can result in gum disease. it can usually be sorted out with a few hygienist appointments.
