I have been wearing braces for six years, can I have them removed early?

Q.
hi
I am a female 22 yrs old. I have been wearing braces for the past 6 and half yrs. My teeth were croocked and croweded i had 2 teeth taken out from the bottom therefore this would provide the space needed to straighten them. I keep asking my orthodentist when will he remove them he keeps saying not. I have depresses and hate my teeth now as they’re not stright yet. I am also fed up of the pain that comes with. I just want them off and my orthodentist does not undrstand my frustration.
I have not paid for my braces as i got them on the NHS when i was 16. I cannot afford a second opinion. however I would appreciate any advice you can give me.
Kind regards.
A.
As an adult you are totally in charge of your own well being and if you wish to have your braces removed then you can always insist this is done by the orthodontist, so please ask him, even if your treatment is not finished. You may however regret it later in life if your teeth are not fully aligned but you always have the choice to stop if you wish to
