I have an infected root at the top of my mouth and need specialist treatment, can you help?

Q.
Hi Dr Hughes
Approximately a month ago my NHS dentist x-rayed to find that I have a problem with an infection in the root of a top tooth – I have been getting small bumps in the roof of my mouth.
The big problem is that it is part of a bridge involving 5 teeth and the dentist told me that the root would be very difficult to access as it is not well formed. He said it would need specialist treatment to try and save the tooth and would send my x-rays and refer me to a specialist – he hasn’t done this!
Would you be able to help please?
kind regards
A.
It sounds like you need to see an Endodontist, a root canal specialist?

I could refer you on to our in-house endodontist or another specialist if you wish, but it would be advisable for you to come and have me examine you and fully assess the situation beforehand

Please contact me practice if you wish to arrange this

Many thanks for getting in touch

Mark
