Q. I have got a stain on my front tooth which has appeared over the years, which i think is due to acid erosion, i keep having to have a white filling over it to cover it up but it shows through after a couple of months, what would you suggest i have done to combat this once and for all.
A. The cause of this problem needs to be correctly diagnosed. The likely cause is acid eosionfrom acidic drinks but it may be also caused by a bite problem causing the tooth to flex or too hard tooth brushing. If it is a small defect a composite filling is the best answer with dietry advice. A large defect may warrant a porcelain veneer
