I Have A Small Crack On The Tooth Adjacent To My Filling. What Treatment Can I Expect When I Go For My Appointment?

Q.
Hi Dr Moore. I hope you can help me. I have previously had a filling to my right upper second molar some years ago. It now seems that there is a small crack on the medial aspect of that filled tooth adjacent to the filling. At the moment it doesn’t cause me any problems, pain or sensitivity, etc and has been like that for a number of months. I am due to have an appointment with my Dentist, but I am wondering which treatment I am likely to expect? Many thanks. I look forward to your reply.

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. I would guess you might be looking at a crown or maybe a porcelain inlay to strengthen the tooth. It’s difficult to say without seeing you in person to suggest which treatment would be fully suitable. If you’d like more information on the treatments I provided such as inlays and crowns you can find it through this website with a simple search. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Dr Andrew Moore.
