i have a severe dental phobia wanted some sort of advise and reasurance of the sedation

Q. I am very scared of the dentist and had not been for years but had too go due to being in pain everyday with my teeth and in a result of not goin for so long i have now got too have 5 teeth taken out as they have just gone rotten. They will not take them out due too me being so terrified so i am having to be sedated and i am also very worried of that to. Im worried of all sorts. but just wanted some sort of advise and reasurance of the sedation. thank you.

A. Hi many thanks for your email, sedation is a very safe treatment to have done in surgery. it is usually adminstered via oral or IV. as long as the clinic is trained sufficiently to administer the sedation then you have nothing to worry about. the other great thing about having treatment under sedation is you do not recall the treatment which helps keep the anxiety levels down.
