I have a nasty taste after wisdom tooth removal. Could the wound be infected?

Q. Hi, I have had my impacted wisdom tooth removed 4 days ago, I’m not suffering with any pain and there is no bleeding of the socket, however i do have a nasty taste in my mouth which is unpleasant, It feels like it’s weeping from the wound, is this normal or is it a sign of the wound been infected. If so what course of action do I need to take. ,
A. You may have an infected socket. Use hot salt mouth washes for a couple of days and if no resolution speak to your dentist

I have a bad taste in my mouth but i haven’t had my wisdom teeth removed yet. I have been told the taste is the bacteria and pus from the infection and to use antiseptic mouthwash and hot salty water. how are wisdom teeth extracted in the first place do you use a drill or is it just pulled out with some forceps?
