I had a root filling and ever since had pain
Q. I had a root filling done 4 years ago (Back molar) and ever since had pain, have had filling replaced bigger & smaller, food keeps getting trapped. Pain all the time especially on biting, throbing evn when i just touch the tooth. have sugested taking tooth out, dentist won’t do another xray. just want to get rid of. dentist wants to refill. am worried might be something worse like cancer.

Hi many thanks for your enquiry, it sounds like the root canal treatment failed and is re infected, if you want to save the tooth then it would be advisable to seek a re root canal treatment via a specialist endodontist. if you do not want this tooth any more then your other option would be to have it removed. i doubt very much that it is cancer.
