I had a dental implant and im not happy with the result

Q. I had dental implant recently which I’m not satisfied at all. It cost all most £8000 and teeth what I have been implant is quite big and wide. It’s not a same as natural teeth I used to have. I’m quite mentally down and looks like to me my dentist haven’t done good job. Even I used to have crystal clear straight nice teeth. I don’t know what to do this situation and spoke to my dentist and said he can’t do much about this. My confrontations are its too long, too wide; colour doesn’t match to other teeth, there are gaps between the teeth. Seriously I need some solution for this what I can do about this. Hope to get reply soon. Thanks!

A. Hi Imran,

I am sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced.

Without a clinical look, i cannot clearly tell you if the work you have had done is of a suitable quality. However, since the implant is retained in the bone, it should not be too difficult to change the crowns that over the implants. Issues such as colour, width and length can be addressed with new crowns provided the implants are in correct position. I think these issues should be frankly discussed with your dentist, and you should enquire to why your dentist is unable to correct this. Also, your dentist should have discussed with you before starting what your end result would be. If what he promised you is different to what he delivered then you have a right to be upset.
