I don’t want to have my tooth extracted, can I do anything to stop this from happening?

Q. hi i have been having problams with my back tooth on the right side i have been to the hospital about its as the tooth is twisted and to close to the nerve. they have said that the tooth needs to come out but i will have one side of my face paralysed. im 30 in june and i dont want a paralysed face. i have been told the tooth is not in bad condition but will need work but all the hospital want to do is to pull it out. im got to go back to the hospital june 23. could you please tell me if there is anything i can do or say to stop them pully the tooth. thank you

A. Hi Kirsty, You are in the best hands of the doctors in the hospital. You need to trust their judgement. As it is the back tooth, the best option may to have it taken out. The doctors always have to let you know the risksof having the tooth out. One of these risks will always be nerve damage. Also, if you decide to leave the tooth as it is, you ae risking pain/abcess etc in the future.
