i am having for the second time a root canal treatment on back moulers

Q. I am having for the second time a root canal treatment on one of the back moulers, but he is going to drill through my crown which is porcelin fused to metal, the downside is that i was told , he could perferate i persume hte tooth which could lead to replacing the crown . the only otherproblem is , that its a bridge attached to mouker . can you advise. many thanks

A.

As the root canal needs to be done, the only option is to have the crowned drilled through in order to save the tooth and then to fill the hole made in the corwn with filing material. If the bridge did perferate then you would need to have the whole bridge replaced.

Kind regards
