A. Hi, thank you for your question. It does sound like you need a lot of work but there are many things that can be done. Most dentists have seen mouths that are in a fairly bad state so it may not seem as bad to us as it does to you. There are many dentists that offer sedation as part of their treatment. Obviously you need to find a private dentist and not an NHS one. If you can find someone in your area that you feel comfortable with that offers sedation, that is probably the best thing. I think for someone like you that is scared it is very important that you feel comfortable talking to the dentist about all of your worries. We offer sedation at my practice so if you live in or can travel to the area I would be happy to see you for a complimenatry consultation. Failing that you could look on the internet for dentists in your area and you may have to go and see a few until you feel comfortable. It is always your choice and you don’t have any treatment that is offered to you. It almost like an interview process. When you find the right dentist you will feel much happier about the prospects of treatment.
