Hello, Dr. Moore! Please Tell Me If There Is A Non-Surgical Way To Bring My Upper Set Forward And Down?

Q.
Hello, Dr. Moore!
Please tell me if there is a non-surgical way to bring upper teeth forward and down? I feel like my teeth are sort of too deep in my mouth. And when I open my mouth all you can see is my lower teeth (probably because they are retro-clined) and no upper teeth. I want that changed. I was thinking, if I got braces and it tilted my lower teeth outwards to fix the position of my retro-clined teeth that would cause a slight under-bite and could be treated with elastics. But the question is would the elastics actually bring upper teeth forward or lower teeth backward to fix the underbite?
I would really want to push my teeth out at least a little bit and bring upper teeth down because I love smiling so much but when I sometimes see photos of my smile I think I should stop.

Hello and thanks for writing in. It’s hard to tell without seeing you but there is normally a solution using braces and or veneers. Seek out a cosmetic dentist in our area to see if they can give you an idea of what’s available. I hope you get the smile you want. Dr Andrew Moore.
