Does my dentist have a duty to treat me as I am a registered NHS patient?
Q. Hello Dr Moore, I was wondering if you could answer a straight forward question for me. I am registered as an NHS patient with my dentist, 48 hrs ago a filling came out, exposing a hole and is causing some pain. I am going away on the 15th,and my dentist wont treat me before I go away unless I pay him privately, does he not have a duty to treat me and get me out of pain as I am a regisered nhs patient?,
A. No i’m afraid he doesn’t have to see you in a specific time frame, you may need to see him privately or find another dentist through NHS direct
