Do you think there will be natural alternatives used in dentistry?

Q. Hello Dr. Moore, Considering all the advancements in dentistry/science around enamel regeration (http://www.rsc.org/Publishing/ChemScience/Volume/2009/10/Enamel_regeneration.asp) do you envision more natural alternatives which could be used to replace veneers and crowns in the future? Years ago I had a veneer placed on a front chipped tooth. I regret the decision, but at the time it provided an asthetic alternative to bonding which I was told would stain over time. Holding out hope of one day obtaining the physiological benefits of a more natural tooth structure. Thanks for your time and insight. Cheers.,
A. Enamel regeneration has been in the pipeline for many years now and could be around the corner or not available for many years from now. The good news is synthetic materials are improving all the time, so any treatment you have done to the veneer now, will be superior compared to the veneer you had placed a few years ago
