could you advise me if it is a safe procedure to have existing veneers replaced?

Q. Dear Dr, Could you advise me if it is a safe procedure to have existing veneers replaced? I dearly want to have whiter teeth as I have just got engaged and would love to be finally happy with my teeth for the wedding, but as I am currently wearing my second set of veneers, I am concerned that to have them changed for a third time, there might be a risk of root canals etc. As I am still young I dont want this to occur if it can be avoided. Thank you for your time.

A.

There is always a greater risk when replacing veneers and crowns, but if it is something that you desperatley want, then sometimes the risk is worth taking. It is entirely up to yourself, but if you are happy with the veneers themselves, then perhaps you should leave them. It is always difficult to say wether you will need root canal treatment, as I am unaware of how much the teeth were prepared the last 2 times.
Hope this makes sense. Good luck with your wedding.
