Could I have surgery to fix a dead tooth even though I’ve had an apicectomy?

Q.
Hi there,

I had an apicectomy carried out above one of my front teeth yesterday. I currently have veneers on my front teeth. I want to have implants or new veneers fitted in the near future, how long should I wait before I can have any procedures done?

I personally think that my tooth is fractured inside or something because I have been told by my dentist that the tooth is dead and one of these veneers has discoloured slightly…would an implant be the ideal solution if the tooth is dead or would a veneer still be ok?

Many thanks in advance for your assistance; I just want to have a nice smile!

With Kind Regards,

A.
If you’ve recently had surgery it would be wise not to have any additional treatment in that area for maybe a couple of weeks. The question of whether or not to have an implant to replace the tooth in question really comes down to whether or not the apicectomy is successful or not. if it is then a crown may be able to compensate for the darkening under the existing veneer. it would be best for you to have a consultation with myself or another good cosmetic dentist in your area to explore all your options
Hope that helps
