where should the gum be cut for 6 implants

Friday, July 18th, 2008
Q.
Considering Implantsfor 6 front teeth.Have been given conflicting information regarding the placement if the incision in the gum. Is it better to have the scarring under the implants and bridges, or on the area above the teeth,(between teeth and nose)?Thought it may be uncomfortable to have bridges resting on scar tissue. Many thanks

is there a problem with teeth whitening at 20 to remove stains

Friday, July 18th, 2008
Q.
Hi, I am 20 years old and am considering getting my teeth whitened. Is there any problem with my age? I have been reading that it is generally older people that get it done to remove stains etc, but then you see celebrities getting it done that are my age! Is there any problem in getting it done or any concerns, as i would much rather go through my life with white teeth than getting it done later on!! Thanks

I had root canal treatment around 15 yrs ago on my

Q.
Hello, I had root canal treatment around 15 yrs ago on my front tooth and had a veneer fitted. In the past 3 or 4 years I have had a number of veneers and they either fall off or crack. I had one fitted 2 weeks ago and within days 2 large cracks appeared. My dentist is on holiday, so I consulted another dentist who advised that my current veneer is too big, too thick and the wrong colour. He suspects my dentist has removed too much enamel from the tooth and this is why I am having all the problems as the veneer is unable to bond with the tooth. He now suggests a crown. I have been avoiding this as I am concerned that it will look false and if my gums receed that the crown will look bad. Is there any alternative or can a veneer be fitted if too much enamel is removed? Thanks

I am a medical nurse RGN can I give botox

Sunday, July 13th, 2008
Q.
I am a RGN and interested in undertaking course in cosmetic treatments. I do understand that the NMC/RCN are not favourable of b.toxin type A due to the nature of remote prescribing. However, who is the governing body of the people running the course ie: Doctors. And, is it only malpactice insurance that covers the nurse regardless?

I no longer smile due to a dead tooth which is discoloured

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008
Q.
I have a dead tooth, left front, if your looking straight at me, and it is now very discoloured, I am looking for advise to rectify the problem, as I no longer smile, as it is so discoloured. My dentist has advised it is very lucky to be there, it was knocked out about 15 years ago, and is held in with wire, but is really only just hanging in there. Please can you let me know what may be a suitable option?
