Hi. I am 28 and thinking of getting fixed braces to correct my overbite of approx 9mm. The orthodontist I have seen thinks he will be about to get it down to around 3mm with fixed braces. My bottom teeth are straight so I do not think I will need braces on them. Would you always advise to have both top and bottom done? Thanks.,

I hve been given some wax with my fixed appliences and was not told what to do with it. This is my 1st day with braces and my bottom lip is in agony. I need to use this wax to help but don’t know how. Please help me and reply as soon as possible.,

Hi, I was advised by my orthodontist to take up corrective surgery as I have a large overbite (upper jaw). I am 28 years old and wanted to know if the corrective surgery is advisable. I have heard from some people that the jaws are connected by strings/wires after the surgery. I have also heard that the mouth cannot open as wide as it naturally used to. If the jaw is connected again using screws and plates, are there any issued during the cold winters (cold metal plates causing discomfort)? I received a bridge (front tooth knocked out) back in the 90’s….it was a bad job from jump but at that time didn’t realize how bad. The bridge has always been a lighter color from the rest of my teeth and the teeth that were shaved for fitting are visible at the gumline!!! HORRIBLE… can this be corrected – redone? If so, what would be the cost out of pocket? HELP…would love to SMILE again.,
